GRG Test Work

GRG Testing is used to determine the amount of gravity recoverable gold (GRG) in a sample. GRG is defined as the gold that reports to the concentrate from a laboratory centrifugal gravity concentrator (such as Falcon L40) at a low mass yield.

The objective of GRG Testing is to determine the total amount of GRG in a sample, known as “GRG Value”. Detailed GRG testing (also known as Extended GRG testing) is a testing option that characterizes the GRG by size fraction.

Basic GRG testing can be a low cost solution to determine the gravity amenability of a sample. Detailed GRG results can be used by Sepro Labs to simulate a gravity circuit and predict plant gold recovery using Falcon ‘SB’ or Falcon ‘FR’ machines under a variety of different flowsheet arrangements and mass splits to gravity.

GRG testing can also be utilized in a plant audit of a gravity/grinding circuit of operating gold mines to determine the current operating performance and troubleshoot to determine the root cause of any gold recovery losses.
